Drop-Down Menu Issue
  • I'm having some issues with the drop-down menus on my site. Here's an example:

    http://www.utahshare.org/newsletter/

Under the Archives tab, we want each year to have it's own drop-down menu and it looks great on the site. However, I can't seem to access all of the links for each of the drop-downs. For instance, when I hover over 2010 and it lists the archives for that year, if I scroll straight across to Nov/Dec 2010, I can click on that tab....but if I try to scroll down to, say, July/Aug 2010, the menu jumps to the 2009 archives. No matter how I position my mouse, I can't get to any of the tabs below the first one.

    Any suggestions for me?

    This answer was Accepted.
Nothing in your menu is dropping down for me at all... :/
  • You could try to do like I did. Look at "resultater" then go to 2010 and then you can see that I position the others horisontally instead og vertical. Is this you have issues with? I did it by putting the "childs" under overlaying "parents" all the way, if you see what I mean.

Yeah....the girl who is managing that part of the site just went in and changed the theme....so it's not even presswork anymore . There are drop-down menus on other parts of the site though, so we'll still need a fix, but it's not as much a priority now that she's decided to go a different direction with her page.

I actually went through the threads you had posted on this issue and saw what you did on your site. If we were only needing one or two links nested, that would work....but the menu in question will have 6 links for each year of archives and it would probably look weird to have that many spread across the screen.
  • I hope dev's can solve this in upcoming versions

  • I would like to see this issue live to totally understand what is going on. The basic drop downs should work like normal but expanded drop down menus have not been tested that much so we don't really know if things work when you add a lot of subsequent drop downs.

  • I believe I have this problem. Look here: http://seniorsummerschool.com/

Hover over [Locations], then [Madison, WI], and then try [Register for Madison].

You can't click on [Register for Madison] because the submenu item [Register for San Diego] shows up. Can't find any solutions online. Seems like a bug.

I am currently troubleshooting this, but I'll leave it alone for a day or two if you want to take a look.

  • Yes, it's like lushmind's site. Here's the test install of our site where I put up a mock-up of what we'd like to have.

    http://www.utahshare.org/testinstall/

Under "newsletters" in the menu, we'd like to have a tab for each year, with issues for that year nested. If you try to access any of the issues under 2010, you can click on the Jan/Feb link, but if you try to go to anything lower than that, the menu will jump down to the 2009 stuff. The 2009 stuff is OK because there are no other menu options beneath it.

  • I have since removed the wayward menus, but did not solve the problem. Definitely looking forward to a solution.
