How to remove page title from static pages?
  • I am using PressWork 1.0.3 (thank you for this great theme). I am needing help with removing the page "Title" from a few selected static pages (for example, the "Home" page). I am not a web developer and would prefer to add html code to the few pages that need this modification. If only possible thru the actions.php or style.css, please be as specific as possible. Thank you.
  • You can use this:
    .page h1.posttitle {display: none;}

    Put it in your custom css http://presswork.me/2011/custom-css-and-custom-actions/

    Read this thread and instructions if you want to remove the date only : http://support.presswork.me/discussion/comment/749#Comment_749
    If you don't mind to remove everything then you can achieve it with simple css :
    article .meta {display: none;}

    This will get rid of the whole meta thing.

  • Thank you!

    Yes, I asked before to remove from posts. I wanted to achieve only for pages. It worked fine with your simple CSS.
    .page .meta {display: none;}

    This didn't work for me. Here are the contents of my child "style.css" file. I placed it under wp-content/themes:

    /*
    Theme Name: PressWork-child
    Description: Child theme for PressWork
    Author: admin
    Template: presswork
    Version: 0.1
    */

    @import url("../presswork/style.css");

    .page h1.posttitle {display: none;}

    What am I missing? Thanks in advance for the help!
  • It should work, can you post the link to the page you are trying to style ?

    Your child theme css is not loading, did you activate your child theme in the Dashboard themes section ?

  • I had not, but have now. Thanks and sorry for missing this basic step.
